LAHORE : A senior leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has strongly condemned the arrest of the party’s Punjab Chief Organizer, Alia Hamza Malik, calling it an act of political victimization and a blow to democratic values.
In a statement, Major (R) Zafar Iqbal Gondal, Senior Vice President of PTI Punjab, said that Alia Hamza Malik had played a vital role in organizing the party across the province.
He praised her efforts, noting that under her leadership, party workers had shown renewed energy, commitment, and enthusiasm.
He further stated that her arrest is not only an example of political revenge but also a violation of democratic norms. “Such tactics cannot silence the voice of truth,” he said, adding that actions like these undermine political freedom and public trust.
Gondal demanded the immediate release of Alia Hamza Malik, urging authorities to respect democratic principles and ensure fair political practices.
The development comes amid ongoing political tensions, with PTI leaders frequently raising concerns over what they describe as targeted actions against party members.
