Islamabad:Operation Bunyanum Marsoos has completed one year, with celebrations being held across Pakistan on May 7 to commemorate what officials described as a major military success against India.
According to reports, tensions escalated during the night of May 6 and 7, 2025, when Pakistan accused India of carrying out unprovoked attacks. Pakistani authorities stated that the country’s armed forces responded decisively during the operation.
The Pakistan Air Force was praised for its role in the conflict, with claims that eight Indian aircraft, including three Dassault Rafale fighter jets, were shot down. Pakistani officials said evidence of the destruction was presented publicly, while accusing the Indian government of concealing losses.
The anniversary celebrations included tributes to the armed forces by media organizations and political leaders. Khawaja Asif stated that the victory sent a strong message regarding Pakistan’s defense capabilities and national unity. He added that any future aggression would receive an even stronger response.
Meanwhile, Malik Ahmad Khan described the operation as a historic achievement that enhanced Pakistan’s international standing. Speaking at the Punjab Assembly, he said the success demonstrated national unity and military strength.
The anniversary also coincided with special events announced by the provincial government and the launch of a book titled The Battle of Truth highlighting Pakistan’s perspective on the conflict.
