JERUSALEM -UNS : Israeli security assessments indicate that Iran may be preparing a broad, coordinated response against Israel involving several armed groups across the region, amid escalating tensions and growing confrontation with Tehran.
According to reports cited by The Jerusalem Post, Israeli officials believe Iran is seeking to coordinate the actions of its regional allies—including Hezbollah in Lebanon, Hamas in Gaza, the Houthis in Yemen and allied militias in Iraq—as part of a simultaneous multi-front campaign against Israel.
The assessments suggest that Tehran is seeking to address what Israeli officials view as a key weakness during the Gaza war: the failure of Iran-aligned groups to launch a fully synchronized response across multiple theaters.
Under the reported strategy, simultaneous pressure from several fronts would be incorporated into the planning of any future confrontation from its earliest stages.
Renewed Hamas-Hezbollah Coordination
Israeli military assessments have also pointed to renewed coordination between Hamas and Hezbollah, reportedly with Iranian support, in an effort to increase pressure on Israel from both the northern and southern fronts.
Israeli reports last month said the two groups had resumed coordination in recent weeks, with Iranian involvement. The reports cited meetings between senior officials of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Quds Force and leaders of Hezbollah, the Houthis and Iraqi militias.
According to the reports, senior Quds Force officials held meetings and video conferences with representatives of the three fronts during a previous pause in fighting, while Iranian advisers were also involved in coordination efforts on the ground.
Israeli authorities are reportedly monitoring these contacts closely, particularly indications that Iran could seek to synchronize operations by Hezbollah and the Houthis with activity by other allied groups.
A More Integrated Regional Response
The reported shift reflects Iran’s broader effort to strengthen coordination among its regional partners and create greater strategic pressure on Israel across several theaters simultaneously.
Any such operation would represent a significant escalation, potentially transforming separate confrontations involving Iran-aligned groups into a more integrated regional campaign.
However, the reported assessments describe a potential scenario rather than a confirmed decision by Tehran to launch an offensive, and the timing, scale and form of any possible coordinated action remain uncertain.
