Iran Rejects US Deal Without Guarantees of Concrete results

TEHRAN -UNS : Iran has ruled out accepting any agreement with the United States unless it delivers clear and measurable benefits, Parliamentary Speaker and chief negotiator Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said on Saturday.

Addressing a virtual session of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, Ghalibaf emphasized that Tehran would only consider a deal if there were firm guarantees that the rights and interests of the Iranian people would be fully protected.

He said Iran has no confidence in US assurances and would judge any agreement based on tangible outcomes rather than promises. “We will not approve any agreement until we are certain that the rights of the Iranian people have been secured,” he stated, according to Iranian media reports.

Ghalibaf made the remarks after being sworn in for another term as speaker of parliament alongside the newly elected parliamentary leadership.

Meanwhile, reports from US media indicate that President Donald Trump has sought revisions to a proposed agreement with Iran, aiming to strengthen several provisions, particularly those related to Tehran’s nuclear programme. The amended proposal has reportedly been returned to Iran for further consideration.

Separately, senior Iranian military official Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari warned that any future act of aggression against Iran would provoke a stronger response than previous retaliatory actions. He reiterated that Iran would firmly defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity against any external threat.

The developments come as diplomatic efforts continue amid ongoing tensions over Iran’s nuclear activities and broader regional security concerns.
