TEHRAN -UNS: Iran proposes 14-Point plan to end war, rejects US Ceasefire timeline.
According to Tasnim News Agency, Iran has submitted a 14-point response to a US-proposed 9-point framework, emphasizing a comprehensive end to the conflict rather than a temporary ceasefire.
The response was reportedly delivered through a Pakistani intermediary and centers on resolving the war within 30 days. This contrasts with the US proposal of a two-month ceasefire, signaling Tehran’s preference for a permanent resolution over extending a truce.
Key elements of Iran’s proposal include demands for guarantees against future military aggression, the withdrawal of US forces from areas surrounding Iran, and an end to the naval blockade. The plan also calls for the release of Iran’s frozen assets, payment of reparations, and the lifting of sanctions.
Additionally, Iran is pushing for a halt to fighting across all fronts, including Lebanon, and has proposed establishing a new mechanism to manage the Strait of Hormuz.
Iran is now awaiting an official response from the United States on its proposals.
