RIYADH -UNS: Yemen’s Iran-aligned Houthi movement, known as Ansar Allah, claimed on Monday that it had carried out a military operation targeting Saudi territory.
Houthi military spokesman Brigadier General Yahya Saree said the operation targeted military facilities and infrastructure at King Khalid Air Base in Khamis Mushait, including aircraft hangars, radar installations, runways, ammunition storage facilities and other military objectives.
Saree described the operation as a response to what he called “Saudi aggression” against Yemen.
The claims have not been independently verified. Saudi authorities had not immediately provided confirmation of the alleged attack or details regarding any damage or casualties.

The reported operation, if confirmed, would represent another escalation in Houthi attempts to strike strategically significant Saudi military infrastructure and place additional pressure on the Saudi-led security posture along the kingdom’s southern frontier.
King Khalid Air Base, located in Asir Province near Khamis Mushait, is a major military installation and has previously been targeted in Houthi-claimed attacks. Any confirmed strike affecting aircraft shelters, radar systems or ammunition facilities could have operational implications, although the extent of any actual damage remains unclear.
The latest claim also comes amid heightened military tensions surrounding Yemen and the Red Sea–Bab al-Mandab security environment. Continued Houthi attacks against Saudi targets could increase pressure on Riyadh to strengthen air-defence measures and could further complicate regional diplomatic efforts to contain the Yemen conflict.
Assessment: At this stage, the Houthi statement should be treated as an unverified military claim. Independent confirmation of the weapons used, impact location, casualties and infrastructure damage is required before assessing the operational significance of the reported strike.
