High Security Alert at Faisal Mosque Following Online Threat

Islamabad -UNS:Security has been significantly heightened at the iconic Faisal Mosque in the federal capital after authorities detected a potentially threatening social media post allegedly linked to an individual suspected of associations with the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
According to senior security sources, the individual shared an image resembling a hand grenade accompanied by the caption “Very soon,” prompting immediate concern among law enforcement and intelligence agencies. The nature of the post raised fears of a possible attempt to target the historic mosque, one of the country’s most prominent religious landmarks.
In response, law enforcement agencies have intensified surveillance and deployed additional personnel in and around the mosque premises. Security screening, monitoring systems, and patrol operations have been reinforced as precautionary measures to ensure the safety of worshippers and visitors.
Officials emphasized that the enhanced security posture is preventive in nature and reflects the government’s zero-tolerance policy toward threats against places of worship and public spaces. Authorities have urged citizens to remain vigilant and promptly report any suspicious activity to relevant law enforcement agencies.
