TEHRAN-UNS-: Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, met Masoud Pezeshkian during his official visit to Tehran on Thursday, holding talks focused on regional peace and ongoing diplomatic efforts.
The Iranian president appreciated Pakistan’s constructive and responsible role in promoting peace, particularly its efforts in facilitating dialogue and de-escalation in the region. The meeting was also attended by Mohsin Naqvi and Abbas Araghchi.
Discussions covered key developments including the ceasefire between the United States and Iran, prospects of a broader peace agreement, and progress on the second phase of the Islamabad talks. President Pezeshkian commended Pakistan’s role in helping prevent further escalation and thanked the country for hosting and facilitating negotiations.
He reiterated Iran’s commitment to peace and stability in the region, emphasizing that unity among the Muslim Ummah is essential to counter external challenges and ensure lasting security.
