QUETTA: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) and Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) Asim Munir said on Monday that externally sponsored terrorism, propaganda, and disinformation campaigns cannot obstruct Pakistan’s progress and development.
Addressing officers and troops deployed in Balochistan during his visit to Quetta, the army chief stated, “Pakistan’s destined rise cannot be obstructed through propaganda, fake news or externally sponsored terrorism.”
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations, Field Marshal Munir visited the Command and Staff College, where he interacted with officers and faculty members before meeting formations stationed in Balochistan.
During his address, the army chief praised the institution’s high standards of training, professionalism, and intellectual excellence, noting that its graduates have consistently demonstrated exceptional commitment and performance in military service.
Highlighting the evolving nature of modern warfare, he stressed the importance of adapting to emerging technologies, multi-domain operations, tri-services coordination, and future battlefield challenges. He urged officers to continuously enhance their professional capabilities and prepare troops to effectively respond to changing warfare dynamics while maintaining the highest standards of operational readiness.
While reviewing the prevailing security situation in Balochistan, Field Marshal Munir reaffirmed that the Pakistan Armed Forces, with the support of the nation, remain fully committed to eliminating terrorism across the country.
He said hostile forces attempting to destabilize Pakistan through proxy warfare and propaganda campaigns would ultimately fail because of the resilience of the state and the unity of its people.
Emphasizing the importance of sustainable peace and stability in Balochistan, the army chief said long-term progress depends on a people-centric strategy, inclusive development, and improved governance alongside security measures.
He also appreciated the efforts of the Government of Balochistan in promoting public welfare, socio-economic development, and stronger ties between the state and the people of the province.
Field Marshal Munir further commended the high morale, operational preparedness, and professional commitment of officers and troops working to maintain peace, stability, and the writ of the state in Balochistan.
Earlier, upon his arrival in Quetta, the army chief was received by the commander of Quetta Corps.
