Islamabad-UNS: The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) has approved technical supplementary grants totaling more than Rs31 billion for various federal ministries and provincial governments.
According to an official statement, the approved grants include Rs7.026 billion for achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Rs10.15 billion for the completion of the Pakistan Navy’s Hangor submarine project.
The ECC also approved Rs8.759 billion for the Karachi and Hyderabad Urban Infrastructure Packages, Rs2.84 billion for SAP projects in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Rs4.377 billion for ongoing expenditures and priority development projects in Gilgit-Baltistan.
A statement issued by the Ministry of Finance said that the ECC meeting, chaired by Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb, approved a technical grant of Rs692.9 million for security arrangements during the Islamabad Peace Talks and Rs241 million for the victims of the Khadijat-ul-Kubra Imambargah blast in Islamabad.
The committee further approved Rs1.883 billion for the Islamabad Safe City Expansion Project.
In addition, the ECC authorized the release of Rs733 million to cover Pakistan Television (PTV) employees’ salaries for June 2026.
An allocation of Rs183.5 million was approved for the installation of telecom towers in Shigar District, Gilgit-Baltistan, while Rs119.9 million was sanctioned for the salaries and allowances of parliamentary secretaries.
The ECC also approved the Budget Honorarium Policy, under which departments eligible for honorarium payments will include the Ministry of Commerce, the Ministry of Law and Justice, and the Office of the Accountant General Pakistan Revenues (AGPR).
Furthermore, the committee approved the continuation of a syndicated financing facility of up to Rs100 billion for Pakistan State Oil (PSO).
