CITY’S PUBLIC HEALTH SYSTEM WELCOMES FIRST BABY OF 2026 IN QUEENS AT NYC HEALTH + HOSPITALS/ELMHURST

NEW YORK ,NY -UNS:  The City’s public health system welcomed its first baby of 2026 in Queens at NYC Health + Hospitals/Elmhurst this morning at 3.29 AM.

Named Liam Steven Bunay Marcatoma, the baby boy weighs 9lbs 5.7oz. and measures 52 cm. Liam Steven Bunay Marcatoma was born to parents Jose Bunay and Janneth Marcatoma. The baby boy is the couple’s third child.

The City’s public health care system delivers approximately 17,000 babies annually, with more than 2000 at NYC Health + Hospitals/Elmhurst. The City’s public health system’s 11 hospitals provide expert prenatal care, labor and delivery services, family planning, comprehensive gynecology, women’s health and primary care outpatient medical support for women at every stage of life.

The City’s public health care system’s first baby of 2026 was welcomed at NYC Health + Hospitals/Harlem this morning at 12:00 AM. The yet unnamed baby girl weighs 7lbs. 2.8oz, and measures 21.26 in.

The baby girl was born to mom and dad Oumy Niang and Amadou Niang.

The baby girl is the Harlem couple’s fifth child. Their previous three children were all born at Harlem Hospital.

The City’s public health system delivers thousands of babies every year.
