ISLAMABAD :Pakistan has officially announced that Saturday, March 21, 2026, will mark the first day of Eid al-Fitr, following the non-sighting of the Shawwal crescent moon across the country.

The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, chaired by Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad, confirmed that Friday will complete the 30th day of Ramadan, in accordance with established moon-sighting criteria.

Officials stated that reports were received from multiple regions; however, none fulfilled the legal standards required to confirm the sighting, leading to the completion of the lunar month.
