RAWALPINDI: An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Rawalpindi on Monday rejected a request by lawyers seeking permission to meet Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan in connection with the May 9 GHQ attack case.
The hearing was conducted by ATC Judge Ahmad Ali Shah. During the proceedings, lawyer Faisal Malik requested the court to allow him and other members of the legal team to meet Imran Khan for legal consultation.
The prosecution opposed the request. Prosecutor Syed Zaheer Shah argued that Imran Khan is not an accused in the case and is currently in the custody of prison authorities. He maintained that matters related to meetings with Imran Khan fall under the jurisdiction of jail officials, not the court.
After hearing arguments from both sides, the court rejected the lawyers’ plea.
