ISLAMABAD: Former Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Sardar Tanveer Ilyas Khan, has formally joined the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party following an important meeting with party President Abdul Aleem Khan.
Sardar Tanveer Ilyas announced his decision to join the party along with Legislative Assembly members Chaudhry Ali Shan Soni and Dr Nisar Ansar Abdali, Political Adviser Sardar Iftikhar Rashid, and several of his political associates.
On the occasion, Abdul Aleem Khan welcomed the new entrants by presenting them with the party flag, formally inducting them into the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party.
The ceremony was also attended by Shoaib Siddiqui, Member of the Punjab Assembly and Secretary General of IPP, and Aoun Chaudhry.
Political observers noted that Sardar Tanveer Ilyas had joined the Pakistan Peoples Party last year. However, differences over ticket distribution reportedly led to his departure from the party and subsequent decision to join the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party.
The development is being viewed as a significant political move in Azad Kashmir’s political landscape ahead of future electoral activities.
