Gas theft: Illegal gas network unearthed in Mardan, Lahore’s farm house’s illegal connection disconnected

ISLAMABAD -UNS: As part of the ongoing crackdown against gas theft, SNGPL disconnected another 241 gas connections in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Islamabad while booking Rs. 2.7 million on account of gas theft. In a major raid, SNGPL’s regional team unearthed a five-kilometer illegal gas network in Mardan which was immediately disconnected. In another raid, Lahore’s regional team caught illegal gas connection at a farm house at Bedian Road. The UFG Task Force in a raid, disconnected domestic connections on using it for commercial purposes in Lahore.

In Peshawar, the company disconnected 30 connections on account of direct use of gas and illegal connections while booking more than 1.4 million rupees on account of gas theft. In Rawalpindim the regional team disconnected 11 gas connections while booking Rs. 277,000 on gas theft. SNGPL’s team in Mardan disconnected 20 gas connections illegal use of gas. Amount of Rs. 360,000 was also booked on gas theft.

In Sialkot, the company disconnected 21 connections for using compressor. 2 gas connections were disconnected in Sargodha on meter tampering while another 11 connections were disconnected on account of illegal use of gas in Sargodha. The regional team in Gujranwala disconnected 10 connections on illegal use of gas while another 9 connections were disconnected for using compressors. The team booked Rs. 150,693 against gas theft while also lodging two FIRs.

In Gujrat, SNGPL disconnected 7 connections on illegal use of gas while another 2 on use of compressor. The company disconnected 6 connections on direct use of gas and illegal extension in Islamabad. In Sahiwal, 5 meters were disconnected on illegal extensions and meter tampering while an amount of Rs. 20,460 was booked on account of gas theft.The regional team in Faisalabad disconnected 17 connections for gas theft while another 6 for use of compressors. The region also booked Rs. 140,000 against gas theft.

In Lahore, a total of 13 connections were disconnected by the regional team. In Bahwalpur, the regional team disconnected 22 connections on use of compressor while another 3 on illegal extensions. The company also booked Rs. 330,000 on gas theft. The company disconnected 16 connections on illegal use of gas while 11 connections were disconnected on use of compressor in Multan. In Sheikhupura, 15 connections were disconnected on illegal use of gas and 2 meters were disconnected on use of compressor.
