Govt abolished Rs 80 billion subsidy on gas to five export sectors

ISLAMABAD -UNS: The Federal Government has abolished Rs 80 billion subsidy on gas to five export sectors in the country.

Sui Northern has issued a notification to end the supply of subsidized gas from May 1,2023. The supply of RLNG to the Textile, Sports, Surgical, Leather, and Jute sectors at $9 has been stopped.

From May 1, all export sectors approved rates of OGRA have been implemented. Export sectors will have to pay an additional four dollars per MMBTU on RLN.

On demand of IMF, the Federal Government ended the series of concessions to the export industries.
