Senator Zehri visits injured Miners of Harnai Coal Mine incident

Quetta- UNS,: Senator Samina Mumtaz Zehri, Chairperson of the Senate Functional Committee on Human Rights, visited a local hospital in Harnai to inquire about the condition of miners injured in the recent gas explosion at the Coal Mines in Harnai. Chairperson Samina Mumtaz Zehri was also briefed about the condition of the injured miners by hospital staff. A number of miners lost their lives, while many sustained critical injuries in the tragic coal mine blast in the Harnai coal mine area.

During her visit, she met with the injured workers undergoing treatment and expressed solidarity with their families. She conveyed her heartfelt sympathies to those affected by the incident, acknowledging the difficult circumstances faced by the victims and their loved ones.

Senator Samina Mumtaz Zehri emphasized that labourers are the backbone of the country’s economy, and their safety must be regarded as a priority. She called for a transparent and thorough investigation into the incident to determine the underlying causes and ensure accountability.

Highlighting the repeated risks faced by workers in the mining sector, she urged the relevant authorities to implement strict safety protocols and enforce existing regulations more effectively. She stressed that preventive measures must be taken seriously to avoid such tragic incidents in the future.

She also prayed to Allah Almighty to rest the departed souls in eternal peace.
