LONDON -UNS :The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has lodged a formal complaint over an interview with former captain Imran Khan’s sons that was aired by Sky Sports during the lunch break on the opening day of the Pakistan-England Test at Lord’s.
According to a British newspaper, the PCB formally complained to the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) over the broadcast by Sky Sports.
Reports said the PCB had also considered the option of not sending the Pakistan team back onto the field after the lunch break in protest against the broadcast. After a brief delay, the interview was eventually aired and the Pakistani team returned to the field.
The interview was conducted by former England captain and current Sky Sports broadcaster Mike Atherton. During the interview, Imran Khan’s sons, Sulaiman and Qasim Khan, expressed concerns about their father’s health.
The interview was broadcast during the first day of the Test at Lord’s, adding controversy to the ongoing Pakistan-England cricket series.
The Pakistan Cricket Board, however, has not issued a public statement on the matter. Reports indicate that the PCB’s complaint was formally raised with the English board following the broadcast.
