MUZAFFARABAD- UNS: Newly elected Azad Jammu and Kashmir Prime Minister Iftikhar Gilani has taken oath of office, with Acting AJK President Chaudhry Tariq Farooq administering the oath.
Addressing the AJK Legislative Assembly after the oath-taking ceremony, Prime Minister Iftikhar Gilani expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Nawaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.
He thanked the party leadership and all those who expressed confidence in him for the office of prime minister.
Gilani said collective efforts would be required to transform Azad Kashmir into a model of development and prosperity.
The newly elected prime minister said his government would need the support of members of the Legislative Assembly to achieve its objectives.
He pledged to work for the betterment of Azad Kashmir with the cooperation of all assembly members.
