ISLAMABAD- UNS- Principal Information Officer (PIO) Raeesa Adil has earned recognition for her professional competence, administrative capabilities and contribution to strengthening relations between the government and Pakistan’s media industry.
As Principal Information Officer, Raeesa has focused on maintaining transparency and fairness in the distribution of government advertisements among APNS and non-APNS publications, including national and regional newspapers.
These efforts have helped ensure wider dissemination of government information and public-interest messages across the country.
With more than 25 years of experience in media management and public relations, public diplomacy and international communications, Raeesa has represented Pakistan’s perspective before foreign media, diplomatic missions and international organisations.
Raeesa Adil, in her capacity as Executive Director General (EDG) of the External Publicity Wing, played a significant role in engaging international media and enhancing Pakistan’s image globally.
She particularly demonstrated strong professional capabilities in managing foreign media coverage during the US-Iran talks held in Islamabad, helping project Pakistan’s positive image and its diplomatic role to international audiences.
During her career, she has also led several strategic communication initiatives and represented Pakistan at international forums, including engagements in the United Kingdom and the United States.
Her professional record includes organising more than 200 press conferences, facilitating over 80 high-level interviews and successfully coordinating or interpreting at more than 50 international seminars.
In addition to her communication responsibilities, the PIO has initiated practical measures to address longstanding financial issues affecting media organisations.
Special attention has been given to clearing pending DROs and accelerating the recovery of payments that have remained outstanding from clients for extended periods.
Officials expect the impact of these measures to become visible from the current month, potentially improving cash flows for media houses and helping ease financial pressures faced by media workers.
The initiatives reflect an effort to strengthen transparency, improve government-media coordination and address longstanding payment-related concerns within Pakistan’s media industry.
