LAHORE-UNS: Just days ahead of the Champions Trophy 2025 which would see Pakistan as host of a mega-event after quite a hiatus, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday inaugurated the newly renovated Gaddafi stadium.
Speaking on the occasion, the PM said the project saw the light of the day at a rapid pace. The renovation, he stated, was an example of Mohsin Speed.
He said Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi deserved appreciation for his spectacular efforts in this regard.
The premier added he hoped that the Pakistani batters and bowlers would live up to their expectations and provide many moments of relief to the masses. He especially urged Pakistan to defeat India in the tournament.
Naqvi praised the labourers who took part in the renovation of the stadium. He said some of the workers had not gone to their houses for the past three months.
Meanwhile, NA Speaker Ayaz Sadiq said he has high hopes that the Pakistani cricketers would do something brilliant this tournament . He said he himself had played in this stadium.
