ISLAMABAD: A growing concern over road safety in Pakistan has been highlighted by recent accidents involving poor quality Suzuki Alto and others cars, which have resulted in severe injuries and put human lives at risk. The National Standards Committee on Automobiles (NSC-Auto) has been urged to investigate the quality of Suzuki Alto cars ,others cars manufacturing companies in Pakistan and ensure that they meet the required safety standards.
A heart-wrenching incident occurred when a Suzuki Alto car carrying six passengers, including children, was involved in an accident. The car split in half from the center, leaving all passengers critically injured. Another incident on the motorway saw a Suzuki Alto car overturn, leaving passengers with severe injuries. The car’s destruction raised concerns about the use of inferior materials in its construction.
The NSC-Auto, constituted by the Pakistan Standards and Quality Control Authority (PSQCA), is responsible for developing standards for the automobile sector in Pakistan. The committee’s scope of work includes undertaking standard development activities in the field of automobiles through its Technical Committees, ensuring that end-customers receive quality products.
The main function of NSC-Auto is to advise the government on standards for automobiles, keeping in view national needs and priorities. In light of the recent incidents, the NSC-Auto has been asked to investigate the quality of Suzuki Alto cars and ensure that they meet the required safety standards.
Citizens are urged to exercise caution when purchasing vehicles and to demand better safety standards from manufacturers. The government is also called upon to establish a regulatory body to inspect the strength and quality of vehicles before they are allowed on the market.

The Suzuki Alto 2025 model is priced between PKR 2,331,000 and PKR 3,045,000, with features including a 660cc engine, automatic transmission, and air conditioning. However, owners have reported issues with the car’s performance, including underpowering and poor suspension.
In conclusion, the government and relevant authorities must take immediate action to address the issue of poor-quality vehicles on Pakistani roads. The NSC-Auto must investigate the quality of Suzuki Alto cars and ensure that they meet the required safety standards. Only then can citizens feel safe on the roads.-Further details will publish soon.
