Pakistan Observes Earth Hour 2026 to Promote Environmental Awareness

UNS: The Government of Pakistan has announced nationwide observance of Earth Hour 2026 on 28 March, following directives from the Prime Minister.

The initiative aims to raise environmental awareness and encourage responsible energy consumption across the country.

According to official instructions, citizens are requested to switch off all non-essential lights between 8:30 and 9:30 pm on Saturday, contributing to energy conservation and promoting a culture of sustainability.

The Cabinet has directed all government and private institutions to actively participate in this global campaign, emphasizing that the initiative goes beyond energy savings and reflects Pakistan’s commitment to environmental responsibility.

Earth Hour, celebrated annually worldwide, brings together tens of millions of participants in over 190 countries to highlight the importance of protecting natural resources and fostering sustainable living.

Pakistan’s participation underscores its role in advancing national and international environmental goals.
