Journalists meets PIO, discusses welfare,insurance for Media workers, journalists 

During the meeting, participants exchanged views on challenges facing the media sector and discussed measures aimed at improving the welfare of journalists and media workers. Special focus was placed on insurance coverage and welfare initiatives for media professionals.

ISLAMABAD – UNS : A delegation of senior journalists met Principal Information Officer (PIO) Raeesa Adil to congratulate her on assuming office and discuss key issues concerning journalists, media workers, and the media industry.

The delegation included APNEC Chairman Siddiq Anzar, Senior Vice President,Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) and founding president of the Pukhtun Journalists Association, Iftikhar Mashwani,  senior journalists Hafiz Tahir, and Kalyana.

During the meeting, participants exchanged views on challenges facing the media sector and discussed measures aimed at improving the welfare of journalists and media workers. Special focus was placed on insurance coverage and welfare initiatives for media professionals.

Iftikhar Mashwani proposed reopening the registration process for the journalists’ and media workers’ insurance scheme to enable those who were previously unable to register to be included in the program.

Iftikhar Mashwani appreciated PIO Raeesa Adil’s professional services, expertise, and journalist-friendly approach. He expressed confidence that she would play a constructive and positive role in addressing the concerns of journalists and safeguarding their professional interests. He also hoped that under her leadership, efforts to improve the welfare of journalists and media workers would be further strengthened.

APNEC Chairman Siddiq Anzar briefed the PIO on various aspects of the media workers’ insurance scheme and highlighted the importance of expanding its coverage.

PIO Raeesa Adil assured the delegation that issues concerning journalists and media workers would be addressed on a priority basis and reaffirmed her commitment to supporting the welfare of media professionals.
