ISLAMABAD -UNS: Since the Pakistan Navy is the protector of our maritime borders, very important and third pillar of the country defense. The importance of the Navy has increased greatly in the present era. It is an important role in the blue economy and the geo-strategic importance of Pakistan.
But the name of this prestigious institution is stolen by a property or land grabber, due which overall morale of Navy (Behria) is in question.
The name Behria has been using Malik Riaz – now become property tycoon-for some 20 years that this person is earning trillions of rupees by stealing our brand name i.e. Navy (Behria),a Retired Admiral said while talking to WORLD TRIBUNE PAK on the condition of anonymity.
He said that Malik Riaz using the name of the national defense organization, ‘he has occupied illegal thousands of acres of government and private lands,Shamilati land in Rawalpindi Islamabad,Lahore,KP and Karachi’.
Hundreds of local poor land owners not paid land price and they still in line in the courts. According to the local Patwari belong to Revenue Department Rawalpindi,’Malik sab illegally occupied 45,000/ to 60,000/ Kalans of Shamilati ,Forest Department land only in Rawalpindi.
Another officer of land and revenue department (Tahsildar) from Rawalpindi on the condition of anonymity said that Malik Riaz grabbed approximately three lakh Kanals of Government and private/Shamilati land in Rawalpindi,Islamabad and Murree areas.
The ancestors of Logon have seized the lands and evicted them from their ancestral properties, but no one dares to insult the honor of Malik Riaz.
There have been court decisions in favor of Pakistan Navy in 2015 and 2018 regarding the use of the name Bahria, but appeals are likely to be ongoing. Anyway, who has the courage to implement such a decision?
According to sources significant number of retired High Court and Supreme Court judges and generals are on Behria Town payroll.
Once he appeared in the Supreme Court, he was accompanied by so many freshly retired senior generals that it seemed that Malik Riaz had called his own meeting of corps commanders. Media Houses and journalists are the slaves of his house.
Along with Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi, the main accused in Al-Qadir Trust is Malik Riaz. Malik Riaz and his son have also been accused of money laundering in the past, but no action could be taken against them.
