Woman ADC Headquarters Officer files case against husband over alleged Domestic violence, illegal confinement

RAWALPINDI: Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Headquarters Rawalpindi, Maleeha Sehar, has filed a complaint against her husband, alleging physical and psychological abuse, harassment and illegal confinement. Following her complaint, the Women Police Station registered a formal First Information Report (FIR).
According to the complaint, Maleeha Sehar, a mother of two, alleged that she had been subjected to severe physical and psychological abuse by her husband for several months.
She alleged that on the evening of October 2, her husband physically assaulted her, took away her mobile phone and confined her to a room, preventing her from contacting or meeting her family members and children.
The officer further alleged that her husband had repeatedly threatened to kill her, creating an atmosphere of fear and causing her severe mental distress. She expressed concern for the safety of herself and her children, stating that their lives, property and dignity were at serious risk.
She also requested the police to arrange a medico-legal examination to document injuries allegedly inflicted during the assault and to collect and preserve evidence from the scene.
In addition, the complainant urged the police to ensure that her husband does not use their children as a means of exerting psychological pressure or intimidating her.
Police have registered the case and initiated proceedings on the allegations contained in the complaint.
