ISLAMABAD -UNS: Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have signed an agreement to waive visa requirements for holders of diplomatic and official or special passports, aiming to facilitate official travel and strengthen institutional ties between the two countries.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan signed the agreement in New York on the sidelines of the 2026 United Nations General Assembly session.
In a post on X, Dar expressed satisfaction over signing the agreement with his Saudi counterpart, saying the arrangement would allow Pakistani citizens holding diplomatic and official passports to travel to Saudi Arabia without obtaining a visa.
He described the agreement as an important step toward facilitating high-level engagement and institutional exchanges between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
Dar added that the move would further strengthen the two countries’ “enduring and brotherly strategic partnership” across areas of mutual interest.
Expanding Pakistan-Saudi Relations
The visa waiver agreement comes as Islamabad and Riyadh continue efforts to deepen economic, political and strategic cooperation. The arrangement is expected to support official exchanges and facilitate high-level engagement between the two countries.
