Chairman Senate meets high-level Qatari delegation, Calls for enhanced trade and investment ties

‎Islamabad-UNS:  Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani held a meeting with a high-level Qatari delegation led by Sheikh Nayef Bin Eid Al Thani, prominent businessman and senior member of the Royal Family of Qatar.

The Chairman Senate warmly welcomed the delegation and highlighted the longstanding brotherly relations between Pakistan and Qatar.

‎Chairman Senate said that the relations between Pakistan and Qatar are rooted in shared history, culture, faith and mutually beneficial trade ties spanning centuries.

The Chairman Senate briefed the delegation about his initiative of the Inter-Parliamentary Speakers’ Conference (ISC), being held under the highly relevant theme of “Peace, Security and Development” in the contemporary global environment.

‎Chairman Senate highlighted Pakistan’s constructive role in promoting peace and dialogue at the global and regional levels and appreciated the significance of the Makkah Accord in promoting unity, peace and stability among Muslim countries. He also appreciated Sheikh Nayef Bin Eid Al Thani’s entrepreneurial vision and role in promoting stronger economic and trade ties between Pakistan and Qatar.

‎The Chairman Senate invited Qatari investors to explore opportunities in Pakistan, particularly in the fields of tourism, agriculture, energy and other sectors of mutual interest.

Sheikh Nayef Bin Eid Al Thani thanked the Chairman Senate for the warm hospitality and appreciated Pakistan’s role in promoting peace, dialogue, development and regional cooperation.

‎Advisor to Chairman Senate and Ambassador of ISC Ms. Misbah Khar was also present during the meeting.
