Islamabad -UNS:The United States Embassy in Islamabad has temporarily suspended visa services for several days, citing the evolving security situation in the Middle East.
According to an official statement issued by the embassy, all immigrant and non-immigrant visa appointments scheduled between March 9 and March 13 have been cancelled.
The embassy announced the suspension through its official social media account, stating that the decision was taken as a precautionary measure in light of the current regional developments.
However, the embassy clarified that services for US citizens in Pakistan will continue as usual during this period.
Officials also said that applicants whose appointments were affected by the temporary suspension will receive instructions via email on how to reschedule their visa interviews.
The embassy did not provide further details about the specific reasons behind the decision but referred to the “evolving situation in the Middle East” as the main factor.
The development comes amid heightened geopolitical tensions in the region, which have led to increased security measures by several countries.
Visa applicants have been advised to monitor their email accounts and official embassy updates for further guidance regarding new appointment dates.
