Field Marshal Asim Munir attends 62nd Munich Security Conference

RAWALPINDI -UNS: Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir has attended the Munich Security Conference in Germany, according to a statement issued by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) here on Saturday.

According to ISPR ‘Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir is on a three-day official visit to Germany where he attended the 62nd Munich Security Conference.

Field Marshal met with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and other officials.

Regional security and counter-terrorism cooperation were discussed in the meeting with the US Secretary of State.

ISSR said in a press release that Field Marshal also met with the German Interior Minister, Foreign Affairs Adviser, and Chief of Defence.

The meetings focused on contemporary security issues, bilateral defence cooperation and the need for promoting global peace and security through bilateral and multilateral dialogue.

During the interaction, global and regional security situation and measures to enhance bilateral defence collaboration were discussed.
