LAHORE -UNS:Pakistan Cricket Board announced on Sunday the squad for the upcoming Asian Cricket Council’s Asia Cup and the T20I tri-series — both to be held in the United Arab Emirates — with Salman Agha retaining his role as captain, according to a press release issued by PCB.
“The tri-series, featuring Afghanistan, Pakistan and UAE will be played at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium from 29 August to 7 September, the statement said. “The eight-team ACC Asia Cup T20I tournament will be staged in Abu Dhabi and Dubai from 9 to 28 September.”
The 17-member squad includes: Salman Ali Agha (captain), Abrar Ahmed, Faheem Ashraf, Fakhar Zaman, Haris Rauf, Hasan Ali, Hasan Nawaz, Hussain Talat, Khushdil Shah, Mohammad Haris (wicket-keeper), Mohammad Nawaz, Mohammad Waseem Jr, Sahibzada Farhan, Saim Ayub, Salman Mirza, Shaheen Shah Afridi and Sufyan Moqim.
“Pakistan are placed in Group ‘A’ alongside India, Oman and UAE,” the statement said. Pakistan will face rival India on September 14 in the ACC Asia Cup, while they will play Oman on September 12 and the UAE on September 17.
The ACC Asia Cup 2025 will feature Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka, the United Arab Emirates, Oman and Hong Kong.
Pakistan, India, the UAE and Oman will make up Group A, while Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan and Hong Kong will make up Group B.
- The group stage will be followed by a super four stage, in turn followed by the final on September 28.
