Despite Completion Claims, Construction yet to begin on Daanish School Kuri

By Hafeez Khan | Daily World Tribune | Islamabad

Despite official claims that the Daanish School being built in Kuri, Islamabad will be completed by December 2025, construction work has yet to begin.

The school, with an approved cost of Rs4.86 billion, is being developed under the supervision of the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training. The project was launched as part of a federal initiative to extend the Daanish Schools model—originally implemented in Punjab—to the Islamabad Capital Territory, aiming to provide quality boarding education to underprivileged children.

However, a visit to the site shows that no construction activity has started so far. Apart from a precast concrete boundary wall and a main gate, the area remains undeveloped. There are no signs of on-site machinery, labor, or foundational work.

The project is listed as ongoing in official records, with significant funding already allocated. Yet, the absence of visible progress raises questions about the feasibility of the stated completion timeline.

When contacted for his version, Project Director Aron Das Jushwa did not respond to the questions shared with him regarding the delay.
