Only 45 MNAs attended all sittings, whereas 27 not attended sitting during 16th session

  1. ISLAMABAD -UNS:As many as 45 (14 percent) Members of the National Assembly (MNAs) attended all sittings, whereas 27 (nine percent) did not attend any sitting during the 16th session of the National Assembly that spanned over 13 sittings between May 5 and 22, 2025. Following are key highlights of the report:
  • The first sitting had the highest number of MNAs (237 or 76 percent of current membership) present during the session.
  • The last sitting had the lowest number of MNAs (174 or 55 percent) present.
  • As many as 268 (86 percent) MNAs skipped at least one sitting during the session.
  • As Many as 118 (44 percent of 268) MNAs submitted applications for leave of absence during the session.
  • As many as 150 (56 percent of 268) MNAs skipped the House proceedings without any formal leave application in advance.
  • Among the cabinet members, four federal ministers attended all sittings, while three state ministers had the highest attendance among their group, attending 10 out of 13 sittings.
  • Prime Minister attended one sitting while the Leader of the Opposition attended two (15 percent) sittings.
