Gujranwala: Due to the mismanagement and malpractices New Food Street, Bakhtewala has become a problems for local residents and for traders community both. According to the residents the district administration is not taking any steps for the improvement of the food street. Shopkeepers have set up encroachments of seven to ten feet on both sides of the roads and footpath, due to which it is becoming difficult to pedestrians.
On the other hand, the use of substandard cylinders by fast foods and other shops owners can lead to any major accident.
Deputy Commissioner Naveed Ahmed seems very active, but he seems completely unsuccessful in solving the problems of Bakhtewala New Food Street.
After numerous complaints from the residents of the area, Assistant Commissioner Iqra Mubeen Gondal was sent for formal action but without positive results.
The residents of the area demanded that Commissioner Gujranwala Naveed Haider Shirazi and Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz take notice and address the issues faced by the public and food street .
