GENEVA-UNS:Addressing the 6th World Conference of Speakers of Parliament in Geneva, MNA Isphanyar Bhandara has said that Pakistan was among the first nations to adopt the SDGs as a national agenda.
He said that Despite fiscal limitations, the country has advanced by investing in education and skills, expanding infrastructure, empowering women and youth through legal protections, enhancing climate resilience, and aligning national laws such as the Juvenile Justice System Act and the Transgender Persons Act with the SDG framework.
Isphanyar Bhandara took part in a high-level panel discussion on _”Achieving the SDGs by 2030: What New Opportunities for International Cooperation.”
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a global framework to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure dignity and opportunity for all by 2030.
He concluded with substantive recommendations for stronger international cooperation, urging the developed world to support developing countries through clean energy and agricultural innovation, knowledge exchange, and reforms in the global financial architecture to ensure inclusive progress toward 2030.
