Economic development of Balochistan is important for country’ progress: Mandviwalla

Quetta-UNS:Senator Saleem Mandviwalla, Chairman of the Senate Standing Committee on Finance and Revenue, and Senator Anusha Rahman, Chairperson of the Senate Standing Committee on Commerce, recently visited the Quetta Chamber of Commerce to address the challenges faced by the local business community.

Focus on Economic Development
During a joint meeting, the senators listened to a detailed presentation outlining the problems facing Balochistan’s traders and entrepreneurs. The visit was aimed at promoting trade and business activities in the province, evaluating the issues, and discussing potential solutions.

Senator Mandviwalla emphasized that the economic development of Balochistan is crucial for the overall progress of Pakistan. He assured the business community that the federal government is committed to creating a business-friendly environment and attracting investment to the province.

Senator Anusha Rahman offered to assist Balochistan’s businesses with digitalization and information technology. She highlighted that using modern technology could help local industries access global markets. Rahman noted that the committees came to Quetta to hear the issues firsthand, as detailed discussions are often not possible in Islamabad.

Ayub Mariani, President of the Quetta Chamber of Commerce, along with other officials, pointed out key issues, including electricity and gas shortages, hurdles in border trade, and a lack of basic infrastructure. Mariani urged the federal government to take immediate action to resolve these problems.
