‘CM Elahi to go for confidence vote before Jan 11’

LAHORE : Punjab Chief Minister Parvez Elahi would go for a vote of confidence before January 11. This was stated by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Fawad Chaudhry on Monday.

In a press conference, Fawad while launching a tirade against the ruling Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) said that the incumbent rulers incompetence has put Pakistan on the verge of default, adding that after the “regime change” operation, the overwhelming support from the masses for PTI chief Imran Khan put them in an unknown fear.

“Institutions should play their role for snap elections,” urged the PTI leader.

Earlier, the PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry said his party was going to issue a white paper on the country’s economic situation.

Mr Chaudhry said in connection with this decision, PTI Chairman Imran Khan summoned the meeting of the economic experts, adding that in the meeting, the country’s economic situation will be discussed in detail. He added the white paper will be issued by the PTI based on the proposals of the economic experts.

Mr Chaudhry went on to say the PTI had formed the working groups for the basic reforms, which will prepare the proposals on the country’s economy and governance.

“The PTI believed that after getting rid of the current rulers, the country could not get out of the quagmire without the major reforms”, added Mr Chaudhry.
