ISLAMABAD: The five Members of Parliament have been added both from government and opposition benches to the Judicial Commission after the passage of the 26th Amendment.In this regards the Speaker National Assembly has written a letter to the Supreme Judicial Commission on the issue of forming a judicial commission for the appointment of judges in the higher judiciary.
According to details Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq wrote a letter to the Supreme Judicial Commission on the issue of appointment of judges in the Supreme Court and nominated Sheikh Aftab Ahmed of Muslim League-N, Senator Farooq Naik and Senator Shibli Faraz have been nominated for the Judicial Commission from the Senate of Pakistan.
Speaker National Assembly has nominated Roshan Khurshid Bharucha for the female seat. All the nominations have been sent to the Secretary Judicial Commission.
According to details five Members of Parliament have been added to the Judicial Commission after the passage of the 26th Amendment.
The names sent by the Parliament have equal representation from the government and the opposition.
According to sources all nominations have been received by the Supreme Court.
Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq has sent the names after consultation with Chairman Senate Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani and all parliamentary parties.
It should be noted that Roshan Khursheed Brocha, a female member nominated in the Judicial Commission, belongs to Balochistan. Roshan Khurshid Brocha is a former senator. His nomination has been made by the Speaker of the National Assembly under the powers conferred by the 26th Constitutional Amendment
The Speaker National Assembly can nominate a woman or a non-Muslim to the Judicial Commission.
Four MPs and one woman have been nominated by Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq.
