Crackdown against sellers of smuggled petrol,diesel launched

SARGODHA-UNS:On the direction of Deputy Commissioner Capt. Retired Aurangzeb Haider Khan, a crackdown has been launched against the sellers of smuggled petrol and diesel across the district.

Assistant Commissioner Amina Ehsan Tarar inspected various petrol pumps along with Civil Defense Officer. Four petrol pumps failed to show supply records from Form k and registered oil companies.

In consequence, petrol pumps named Allah Bakhsh Petroleum Faisalabad Road, Kamboh Petroleum Kandiwal Road, Shaukat Petroleum Chak No. 98 SB and Muhammad Petroleum of the same Chak were sealed by the AC Sargodha.

Deputy Commissioner Captain (Retired) Ourangzeb Hyder Khan, addressing an emergency meeting, sternly warned against overloaded vehicles. The meeting, held at his office, The Deputy Commissioner emphasized ensuring strict implementation of load limits on vehicles, with a hundred percent compliance expected on Load Excel, and pledged rigorous action against transporters and drivers in case of violations.

He directed the Secretary DRTA and Traffic Police to form special squads, ensuring continuous monitoring of heavy vehicles not only during the day but also at night.

The DC clarified that action would also be taken against the owners of overloaded vehicles with potential closure of their operations. Furthermore, he highlighted the hazards posed by overloaded vehicles, causing not only damage to national highways but also contributing to increased accidents. He instructed the installation of signboards regarding load limits on major highways.”
