3.9 per cent increased in Pending cases during last 6 months of 2023

ISLAMABAD -UNS :Law and Commission of Pakistan released the report of the pending case in courts. The report of pending cases from July to December 2023 was issued in Islamabad on Thursday.The report includes the list, Shariat court, all facts and figures and figures of district courts.

According to the report, the number of pending cases in the courts across the country has reached 22 lakh 60 thousand.The report said that Pending cases increased by 3.9% during the last 6 months of 2023 with 82% of the total pending cases in district courts. Over 18 percent of the pending cases are in the High Courts.

The report stated that 2.38 million new cases were registered between July and December 2023.Over 2.3 lakh cases were disposed of during this tenure. According to report 81 percent of the pending cases are civil cases.
