RAWALPINDI -UNS: A graceful marriage ceremony of the beloved daughter of prominent columnist and former Central Deputy Secretary Information of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Engineer Iftikhar Chaudhry was held in Rawalpindi.It was huge gathering of Eng. Iftikhar Chaudhrys’ family, friends, relatives, people from different walk of life and notables from twin cities Rawalpindi, Islamabad, and others parts of the country.
A sumptuous dinner was arranged for the enjoyment of the guests, which included various types of traditional and non-traditional types of Pakistani foods. Traditional and local Pakistani cultural was reflected in the function as whole. Special attention was paid to traditional and local values in the Valima reception, in which all requirements of the hospitality were fulfilled.
Among the notables and people from all schools of thought participated in the ceremony. Senior Journalist Khusnood Ali Khan, Former senior leader of Tehreek-e-Insaf and Secretary General Engineer Arshad Dad,Javed Niaz Mian Yasir Khan Baloch, Raja Mansoor Javed Badhanvi,Akbar Ibrahim Former Members of Assembly Sabrina Javed and Shamim Aftab and former Secretary Election Commission and Advisor to Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi Kanwar Dilshad also present on the occasion. Engineer Iftikhar Chaudhry the father of the groom and sons entertained the guests gracefully.
Engineer Iftikhar Chaudhry stay abroad for long time but their roots remained in Pakistan. He served Pakistan a lot from the platform of ‘Yaran Watan’ in Saudi Arabia. He was also the Secretary General of the Engineer Community and was the Chairman of Pak Kashmir Gujjar Forum. He created countless job opportunities for Pakistanis. He was a good student leaders during student life and later supported Mian Nawaz Sharif for democracy and spent 71 days in Jeddah Jail. As students leader was also the first moderators of Jamiat in Lahore Polytechnic College.He was the vice-president of the union.
He sacrificed his life and money for the development of Pakistan. People of Gujranwala will remember the movement of 1977 where Sulaiman Khokar ,Naveed Anwar, Naveed Khawaja, Hamaduddin and Engineer Iftikhar Chaudhry were big names. He was also the stage secretary of Ghulam Dastgir Khan later. He spent his entire life in this struggleI settled in Rawal Pindi and remained in the front lines in the field of politics. In 2002, Mian Nawaz Sharif asked him to contest the election on his party’s ticket. When they struggled, their hands became straight and with PTI after that he did not get a ticket nor did his son get a ticket. He is such an ideological person that he is very sincere with Imran Khan.
