LAHORE: Police have detained 15 people as part of an ongoing investigation into the alleged gang rape of an Azerbaijani woman in Lahore, officials said.
According to police, five suspects, including two women, have been identified in connection with the case. The victim’s medical examination has also been completed.
Police said the detainees include individuals suspected of facilitating the alleged crime, while investigators continue questioning them. Authorities have also recovered a vehicle allegedly used by the suspects.
Investigators said a white car was allegedly used to lure and transport the woman, while another vehicle reportedly involved in the incident is owned by a suspect identified as Tanveer.
Police have also detained relatives of suspects Mohsin and Tanveer for questioning. The detentions were made in a private housing society falling under the jurisdiction of Sunder police station and in Defence.
The Crime Control Department (CCD), along with Operations and Investigation Police, is participating in efforts to apprehend the main suspects.
Raids are being conducted at multiple locations, including outside Lahore.
Police said Muskan and several alleged accomplices remain at large, while efforts to arrest the remaining suspects are continuing.
