Senator Kakar elected Chairman of Standing Committee on Overseas Pakistanis,HRD

ISLAMABAD-UNS :Senator Anwar ul Haq Kakar Unanimously Elected as Chairman of Standing Committee on Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development,on Thursday. A meeting of the Senate Standing Committee on Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development of the Upper House was held here at the Parliament House on Thursday to elect the Chairperson of the Committee. During the meeting, Senator Prince Ahmed Omer Ahmed Zai proposed the name of Senator Anwar ul Haq Kakar as Chairman of the committee which was seconded by Senator Rana Mahmood ul Hassan.

In his acceptance speech, Senator Kakar expressed his gratitude and pledged to work collaboratively with the committee to fulfill their responsibilities. The senators present at the meeting acknowledged the significance of overseas Pakistanis and professed their support to resolve their issues.

On being elected as Chairman Standing Committee of the Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development, Senator Anwar ul Haq Kakar thanked the members of the committee and said that he would fulfil the confidence placed in him.

Senator Anwar ul Haq Kakar while extending gratitude to members remarked that pursuing the footsteps of former Chairman committee Manzoor Ahmad Kakar, he will continue efforts and raise his voice to solve the problems of overseas Pakistanis.

Senators termed “Overseas Pakistanis” an asset of the country and assured full support in addressing their issues. The senators were of the view that overseas Pakistanis have an important role in Pakistan’s economy and steps should also be taken so that remittances swell further.

Today’s meeting of the Standing Committee was attended by Senators Prince Ahmed Omer Ahmed zai, Sherry Rehman, Rana Mahmood ul Hassan, Shahadat Awan and Danesh Kumar.
