First aid training for journalists by CPDI

WANA: A one day training and workshop on first aid was arranged for the journalists of Peshawar under the organization of Center for Peace and Development Initiatives (CPDI) in which experts from Rescue 1122 trained journalists on first aid.
On this occasion, Project Manager of CPDI Noor Alam Khan while talking to the participants and media representatives said that the knowledge and skills of journalists to administer first aid and basic life saving skills are limited.
Since most of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province is full of conflicts where journalists and media workers face various threats
Therefore, the need to provide first aid and basic life-saving skills to journalists in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is more important than ever.
The main objective of the workshop is to improve the first aid skills of media professionals in case of injury so that they can help themselves and other injured colleagues.
Trainers from Rescue 1122 gave detailed briefing and training to the participants on topics such as stopping acute blood flow, measures of fracture and vital signs, artificial respiration and how to restore heart rate.
During this time, the participants learned each technique practically, and finally, the media representatives were given first aid kits and certificates.
Apart from this, awareness posters and brochures regarding the first aid for the journalists present in the press club were also given to the participants so that the rest of the journalists can also benefit from it.
The participants appreciated CPDI organization of training workshops based on medical aid and hoped that CPDI would arrange more programs on medical aid and safety and security for journalists in the province.
