End to Israel-Hezbollah war ‘within grasp’:US envoy

UNS/AFP:US special envoy Amos Hochstein said Tuesday in Beirut that an end to the Israel-Hezbollah war was “now within our grasp” as he met officials to discuss a truce plan largely endorsed by Lebanon.

The United States and France have spearheaded efforts for a ceasefire, which escalated in late September after nearly a year of deadly exchanges between Hezbollah and Israeli troops.

Gaza’s only functioning hospital severely damaged in Israeli shelling:

The only partially functioning medical facility in northern Gaza, Kamal Adwan Hospital, has been severely damaged as Israeli forces targeted its upper floors and rooftop.

Dr Hussam Abu Safia, the hospital’s director, confirmed that the roof and upper floors of the building were destroyed during the attack.
