ISLAMABAD : Huge embezzlement and corruption of billions of rupees in special funds announced by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for restoration and rehabilitation of local roads network in floods hit areas of KP,Sindh and Balochistan.
According to details Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced over five billion rupees only for KP province for restoration of local roads network in floods hit areas on war footing basis.
The sources said that the Prime Minister had announced and released more than five billion rupees funds to the National Highway Authority (NHA) for KP for restoration and rehabilitation of Highways, local roads.Punjab,Sindh and Balochistan also got funds, on emergency basis for the rehabilitation and reconstruction and maintenance of the flood affected areas. Of which there is no record and the alleged money has not been used in the said flood hit areas.
The alleged money has been embezzled with the connivance of High-up officers of NHA and private contractors.
In Sindh, Balochistan and KP, the roads have been destroyed by floods and the restoration of the roads has not been done yet, even though Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has made emergency arrangements for the restoration of these roads.
According to competent sources the funds of more than 10 billion rupees were released, which have been exposed to corruption. According to the sources, the relevant officers in regional offices including the Minister of Communications and the Chairman NHA are involved in the corruption. More details will be released soon.
