ISLAMABAD :There has been massive corruption and favoritism in recent transferred and posting in National Highways Authority (NHA). All five key members are reshuffled in NHA. Recent posting transfers in NHA have revealed irregularities, favoritism, ignoring senior and honest officers and promoting blue eyed junior officers to important posts including Members. Such posting and transfer provide an avenue of corruption,mismanagement and malpractices.
Senior members have been sent from NHA Headquarter to the Provinces or others fields offices, because they were obstructing the awarding of meritless contracts to contractors favored by high ups, while their junior officers have been promoted to do whatever the authorities want.
It should be noted that everything including the awarding of contracts is done by the NHA Headquarter that why the high ups want to post their blue eyed officers.
According to reliable sources Member administration that who have the support of the ruling Alliance PDM Head, Federal Minister for Communications,Chairman and Adviser to the Prime Minister from KP are involved in mismanagement,malpractices in NHA.
In the said reshuffling in NHA high ups violated the policy of “Right person for the right job “.Its also violation of Supreme Court order and principal of seniority are totally ignored which put NHA in dare straits.
The sources also disclosed and there are rumors about the Member Admin involvement and get hefty amount in recent posting and transfers.
In a posting transferred, Member Admin was instrumental as he received ”Nazarana” which may have been found their ways to the ministry high-up.
‘Saqlain got promotion by paying bribe’
In recent reshuffling a controvert-ail and junior officer Ikram-Mus-Saqalain has been posted as Member Engineering Coordination, a BS-20 /21 officer, where as he is still as BS-19 officer, but he get out-of-way promotion.
The sources disclosed that despite of several inquiries against Saqalain, he was promoted out-of-way.Another sources said that Saqlain got promotion by paying bribe. Sources disclosed that this is under discussion among the NHA staff that the important and “rich”post of Member Engineering Coordination has been bought.
NHA management also did a massive irregularity by placing junior on senior position in spite of availability of senior officer. Now some senior officer will report to their junior officer which is violation of SOP of service.
Another Member i.e. Member Planning Mr Wala is under enquiry and his promotion is also differed due under enquiry.
The efficiency of organization will drastically suffered and will also create bickering in the organization.
The NHA is white element with the huge burden on the public exchequer such decision will further burden the national economy. (To be continued)
