Speaker accepts resignations of 35 more PTI MNAs

ISLAMABAD -UNS: Over 35 more resignations of Pakistan Tehreek-i- Insaf  MNAs accepted by Speaker National Assembly Speaker Raja Pervaiz Ashraf on Friday. These 35 resignations accepted just days after accepting the resignations of nearly three dozen of the party’s lawmakers.

The PTI had resigned en masse from the lower house of parliament following the ouster of PTI chief Imran Khan in April last year.

Subsequently, the NA speaker had accepted only 11 of the resignations, stating that the remaining lawmakers would be summoned individually for verification. On Tuesday, Ashraf accepted 34 more as the PTI hinted it would “test” Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif with a confidence vote.

The total number of MNAs whose resignations have been accepted stands at 80.
