Shandur Polo Festival started in Chitral

CHITRAL -UNS: Shandur Polo Festival launches in collaboration with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Tourism Authority, Pak Army and Chitral Scouts,on Friday.

The guest of honor for the inaugural ceremony was Special Advisor Information Barrister Dr. Saif and Sports Minister Fakhr Jahan.

Barrister Dr. Saif and Minister of Sports Fakhr Jahan inaugurated the Polo Festival.

Speaking on the occasion Barrister Saif said that Shandur Polo Festival welcomes domestic tourists.Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has made vigorous arrangements for the festival.

He hoped that the tourists will return with good memories.He said that Kyber Pakhtunkhwa is a peaceful province and there great opportunities of tourism.

Pakhtunkhwa is organizing an international level festival, Barrister Dr. Saif disclosed.

The provincial government is taking the best steps to promote tourism.

Shandur Polo Festival has the support of District Administration Chitral Upper and Lower and Police

Three days of thrilling contests will continue.

The match was played between teams of Sarlaspur Chitral and Ghazar Gilgit -Baltistan on the opening day.

Sarlaspur defeated Ghazar’s team by 6-3.

The world’s highest polo field, Shandor, is about 12,000 feet high.

Shandur Polo Festival enlightens global tourists in a peaceful, beautiful and historical aspect of Pakistan.

Secretary Tourism Bakhtiar Khan, Commissioner Malakand Abid Wazir and DG Tourism Authority Habibullah Arif were also present at the ceremony.
