Corruption, malpractices, crises in Urdu University still going on?

By Our Correspondent

KARACHI: Corruption and nepotism in the Federal Urdu University,Karachi and Islamabad is at its peak. Last week, the investigation team under the supervision of the Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Education, which went from Islamabad, was partially given the records after four days of waiting. According to the University sources that in this regard that the University Registrar and relevant staff  were hesitant in giving the record to the committee, but after four days the record given is also incomplete or tampered with.

Senior staff members of the Federal University Karachi said on condition of anonymity  that most of the cases and affairs in this university are reflecting against the rules and regulations. An example of this is the appointment of the current Registrar. He said that  a teaching staff  cannot be appointed as Registrar but present Registrar is a professor.

The federal institution whose act clearly states that its main campus will be in Islamabad, but the corruption mafia has kept its main campus in Karachi, which is a clear violation of this ordinance.
Although the Urdu University is a federal institution, its senate will have representation from all four provinces of the country and the federation, but all members of university are from Karachi.

The surprising thing is that the leader of the crypto mafia and his wife and their nominations for the persons of his choice to become new members of the Senate have been sent to the Chancellor.

The nominations for the new Senate of Urdu University have been sent to the Chancellor ( President), but there no representation from other provinces.

For clarification and version of VC and Registrar on the issue this WT Correspondent tried to contact acting Vice-Chancellor and the Registrar, but they did not answered the calls.

However, they can give their opinion, the ‘WORLD TRIBUNE’ will also print their version. For contact::03258514342
